Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving this year we drove to Galveston, Texas to a beach house.
It was a lot of fun and it was so nice to get away from all of our responsibilites for awhile.
Braxton loved running on the beach and chasing the birds.
Colton didnt quite understand everything and I think he missed his toys, he was kinda touchy that weekend, buit as soon as we got home he crawled up the stairs to the toy room and smiled from ear to ear.
We also stopped at the Houston temple on our way home.
Took some family pictures, and
ate a lot of food!!
It was a good trip. Pics are on facebook.

Lack of Sleep....

Where do I start????
Oh yeah... I'm exhausted!
and so is Aaron.
Colton has been pretty rough these last couple weeks with sleeping.
but only at night.
he takes naps fine and is a very happy kid during the day.
As soon as it is bedtime, something happens.
He can be rubbing his eyes, barely keeping them open, moaning himself to sleep and then....
WIDE AWAKE!!!
How does this happen. So for awhile I would go lay with him and this is how he would fall asleep.

It seems like he is only comfortable if I am right next to him, his arm around me or nursing him.
Yes I can still sleep but not as well as i would like too. and He still wakes up every 3 hours or so.
So i laid him on my floor like this....
Now how can you not sleep all night long with a bed that comfy???
Who knows... oh yeah Colton, because this lasted for a few hours and then he was awake.
One night it did better then the other but still not all night long.
Why is he not in his own crib?
Well you see we tried that too... in the same room as Braxton,
which does ok. but it is a little harder to let Colton put himself back to sleep for fear of then having Braxton wake up as well.
So we set up the pack n play in the spare bedroom and had Colton in there.
Same thing he was waking up every few hours.
Which is hard on us to have to go up and down the stairs half asleep, 5 times a night.
So i was talking to a lady who has a baby 6 days older then Colton her baby sleeps through the night and is no longer doing nightly feedings.
So i though ok time to wean him of the nightly feedings.
Of course the first night i decide to do this he gets sick.
He is still sick so maybe he is starting to teethe .. i don't see anything but he has a runny nose and he is all congested.
Lucky me I got it too.. So Colton and I have been sick since Saturday.
Which doesn't help with the sleeping problem either!
Aaron just got a new work schedule so he now has to be up at 5:30.
That is hard when we are up 3 times a night with a screaming child.
So it's been hard on both of us.
Braxton on the other hand sleeps Great at ngiht. We put him in his bed around 8 or 8:30, depending on when he woke up from his nap, and even if it takes him an hour or so he just talks himself to sleep.
He sleeps all night and wakes up between 7 and 8 comes in my room and greets Colton and I with a big smile and is so excited to see us.
Weekends he doesn't do so well with his napping, he is such a Daddy's Boy that when dad is home he doesn't want to miss out on play time.
This last sunday after church we were watching a movie and Braxton fell asleep like this for like 2 hours. I couldn't resist. He looked sooo cute!!

So I have a hard time letting my kids cry it out, I feel so bad for them,
however sometimes i get more frusterated when i am holding them knowing they are exhausted and they won't go to sleep.
So this morning I let Colton cry for a little bit. This is what happened. Awesome right.....
I was just thinking the same thing but guess who just woke up....... 20 minute power nap i guess.
Overall i do think my kids are adorable when they are sleeping!

6 months old

My Baby is 6 months old!
Scooting everywhere
and always has a smile on his face.
We are truly blessed to have him in our family!
Can't imagine it any other way right now!
My two handsome boys on Mothers Day.
Being a mom to two boys is the best thing in the world.
Yes i get stressed and lately I have had no "me-time"
but I love it and wouldnt trade it for the world.
Sometimes at night after they are asleep I just have to remind myself that how blessed I am to be a mother and to have these two special boys.
I've been worn thin lately..... we have been so busy with a ton of things here and there.
Braxton has a tooth coming in.. so our patience was wearing thin and he was extra clingy.
But like I said after the week is passed I look back and am just grateful for my family.
I am a little behind in the blogging world so Braxton turned 2 in April.
He is talking so clear and good now. It is fun to actually understand him and him be able to tell us what he wants.
We had a Mickey Mouse birthday party,

Colton is now 5 months old. He is rolling everywhere and trying so hard to get up on his knees and scoot where he wants to.
He is the happiest baby I know.
He loves watching Braxton play and he just laughs at him.
I can't wait until they can play together!

Weekend Fun!!!

Two weekends ago Felisha and I planned a surprise double date for our husbands.
We started off at IHOP for breakfast..
which was Deeeeeelicious!
Then we headed to the batting cages to hit a few balls..

Well we ended up hitting about 140 balls a piece.
It was fun.. the next morning however when I could barely move my upper body was not so fun.

I just thought this pic was cute. Braxton wanted to eat his breakfast outside one morning!
He is getting so cute and has such a fun personality. We sure do enjoy him and the little surprises that come along with him.

he is starting to tell us when he has to pee so we go on the BIG Boy potty and he gets very excited!
He also likes to change his clothes at least 3 times a day. Not by my choice.. :)
He loves wearing his basketball shorts like his dad!
He is pretty much Aaron's little shadow once Aaron gets home from work!
He sure loves his Daddy!

Aaron played some tennis with a guy from work.
Colton had a blast scooting this things around.
Which by the way he is now 6 months and scooting everywhere!

Just watching some Mickey Mouse before bed!

This weekend we went BOWLING!!
Braxton did such a good job at waiting his turn, and when it was his turn he was so funny to watch.

Saying "YESSSS!!!" after one of his bowls!

Been Busy

I feel like these last few weeks I have been going nonstop.
We moved into our house April 11th.
Since then I have been painting and unpacking pretty much every day,
since I have the two little rascals to take care of
things take a little longer.
So far we have painted the downstairs of the house and the wall in the boys room.
There is still so much I want to get done.
Just have to find the time to do it.

Aaron has started online classes again so he is pretty busy when he gets home from work for a couple hours. But we make Sunday our family day.

Braxton just turned 2.
Colton is now 4 months and growing so fast.
They both have doc appointments on the 11th so more of an update then.
Both boys are napping now and I am debating....
do i go fold laundry or enjoy my quiet time and play around on the internet.

I think the internet won!!

Braxton turns 2

I can't believe this little baby....

Has already turned into this handsome kid!

I can not express how much I love this kid and the blessing he is in my life.
I am so grateful to be his mother.
His sweet spirit and fun persoanlity make every day interesting.
He is  now talking in sentences.
He can say ABCD... then he goes back to A.
He counts 1 3 2... lol because when he plays basketball with dad he counts 3...2...1 shoot!
He copies everything we do and say. So he is learning a lot,
He is a great older brother and loves Colton dearly.
We love this little man.
Happy Birthday Braxton.

Being a Mommy!!

Colton is now 6 weeks old.
Where has it gone already?
(1 month pic)
Braxton 1 month pic
Braxton is loving his little brother. He made him smile for the first time the other day and he thought it was the funniest thing. I am so glad her has adjusted so well.
Speaking of adjusting...
life with 2 kids is way different then i thought it would be.
There are days that I could pull all my hair because both kids are crying at the same time and I can't help them both, or there are days that my hose looks like a tornado hit because by the time i have a sec to clean up one mess there is a little monster right behind me making another one.
I have had some crazy days.
But at the end of the day when I get to look in on my boys and see that they are peacefully sleeping I take a minute to realize how lucky I am to be able to saty home with them and watch them grow and teach them.
Braxton is gettting so smart he is talking pretty good, starting to put more and more words together and he catches on to everything so fast. I said "oh my heck" this morning and then for like 5 minutes he was saying "oh heck". So funny but made me realize i better not say words i dont want him saying.
Colton started smiling, i cannot get enough of a new born babies smile!
Being able to stay home and polay with these boys all day is a true blessing.
When it gets hard i jsut have to take a minute, step back and look at my Beautiful boys and remember what my Heavenly Father has blessed me with.

Colton 3 weeks

I took Colton in for his "2 week" appointment yesterday
He weighs 11 lbs. 13 oz.
23 inches long.
He is just growing like crazy.
He is eating every 2 hours.
Staying awake a little more during the day.
Sleeps like a Champ at night.
Being loved on all the time by his family.
Braxton is doing so good with him, he is definitely adjusting to not having attention 100% of the time but he is a great big brother. He gives Colton kisses all the time without us saying anything and if we try ot put him to bed before he gets to kiss Colton.... he reminds us.

Grandmas come to visit

My mom was able to come and stay with us for a week.
It was sooo much fun to have her here.
We did some redecorating (pictures will come later),
reorganizing, and picture taking.
She was so excited to get to spend time with the boys.
Braxton calls Grandma "Gra Gra"
It was the funniest thing.
He loved having her here.
And it was such a help to me as well. We took Braxton bowling for the first time.
What a blast.
It was bittersweet having my Mom leave, a week just went too fast but I was also excited to see my Mother-in-Law.
I just realized I didn't take a pic of her with just the boys. dang it.
Well she brought some hand me down clothes for Braxton and the first thing he saw was:
SpongeBob!!
We played lots of "hoops", made a ton of cookies, went to the park, drove up to the temple, ate at Red Robin, and had way too many late nights talking.
It was so nice to have both of our moms come down and help us out and get to see the Boys.
It made us miss home but we are going to visit in 2 months, and I couldn't be more excited.
Thanks Mom and Kathy for everything!

Colton's Birth Story

December 28th 2011
6:15 we arrived at the hospital.
7:45 Pitocin was started. I was already dialated to 3 cm and 70% effaced.
9:00 Doctor broke my water, 4 cm
At this point while we were waiting for something to happen we made our guesses on how Big Colton was going to be.
Aaron guessed he would be born at 4:38pm 8 lbs 8 oz. 21 inches long
I guessed he would be born at 3:23 pm 8lbs 7 oz 20 inches long
10:15 I decided I didn't want to be uncomfortable with my contractions any longer so I got my epidural.
12:45 Colton's heart rate dropped a little so they put me on oxygen and stopped the pitocin. Dialated to 6 cm.
2:30 Nurse came in to check me and said if I was ready to go we would start pushing since the Doc was right next door, well after my experience with Braxton I just assumed there was no way i would be ready to push yet. Well nurse said I was at 10 cm and that his head was right there. She was kinda funny she said " I'm not a baseball player and I don't catch so since the baby is so close we will wait for the doc to get here. " Dr. Osowo came in checked me and said ok we're ready to go.
I don't know if my nerves set in or if the room suddenly got really cold but i began to shake as they got everything ready.
1st contraction head was 1/3 of the way out
2nd contraction head was 1/2 way out
3 rd contraction I pushed for 4 seconds and the doc told me to stop. It scared me i figured the cord was wrapped around his neck, i think it was just a little but the next thing i knew Aaron was cutting the cord and Colton was here.
2:53 I met my little boy for the first time.
I got to enjoy my little boy for a while before they took him to weigh him
9 lbs 7.4 oz 21 inches long
No wonder I was beginning to be so uncomfortable I had a HUGE baby in me.
5:45 Braxton got to come meet Colton for the first time.
He is such a good big brother.
We are so blessed to have Colton in our home.
He truly was sent to us from Heaven.
