Being a Mommy!!

Colton is now 6 weeks old.
Where has it gone already?
(1 month pic)
Braxton 1 month pic
Braxton is loving his little brother. He made him smile for the first time the other day and he thought it was the funniest thing. I am so glad her has adjusted so well.
Speaking of adjusting...
life with 2 kids is way different then i thought it would be.
There are days that I could pull all my hair because both kids are crying at the same time and I can't help them both, or there are days that my hose looks like a tornado hit because by the time i have a sec to clean up one mess there is a little monster right behind me making another one.
I have had some crazy days.
But at the end of the day when I get to look in on my boys and see that they are peacefully sleeping I take a minute to realize how lucky I am to be able to saty home with them and watch them grow and teach them.
Braxton is gettting so smart he is talking pretty good, starting to put more and more words together and he catches on to everything so fast. I said "oh my heck" this morning and then for like 5 minutes he was saying "oh heck". So funny but made me realize i better not say words i dont want him saying.
Colton started smiling, i cannot get enough of a new born babies smile!
Being able to stay home and polay with these boys all day is a true blessing.
When it gets hard i jsut have to take a minute, step back and look at my Beautiful boys and remember what my Heavenly Father has blessed me with.

Colton 3 weeks

I took Colton in for his "2 week" appointment yesterday
He weighs 11 lbs. 13 oz.
23 inches long.
He is just growing like crazy.
He is eating every 2 hours.
Staying awake a little more during the day.
Sleeps like a Champ at night.
Being loved on all the time by his family.
Braxton is doing so good with him, he is definitely adjusting to not having attention 100% of the time but he is a great big brother. He gives Colton kisses all the time without us saying anything and if we try ot put him to bed before he gets to kiss Colton.... he reminds us.

Grandmas come to visit

My mom was able to come and stay with us for a week.
It was sooo much fun to have her here.
We did some redecorating (pictures will come later),
reorganizing, and picture taking.
She was so excited to get to spend time with the boys.
Braxton calls Grandma "Gra Gra"
It was the funniest thing.
He loved having her here.
And it was such a help to me as well. We took Braxton bowling for the first time.
What a blast.
It was bittersweet having my Mom leave, a week just went too fast but I was also excited to see my Mother-in-Law.
I just realized I didn't take a pic of her with just the boys. dang it.
Well she brought some hand me down clothes for Braxton and the first thing he saw was:
SpongeBob!!
We played lots of "hoops", made a ton of cookies, went to the park, drove up to the temple, ate at Red Robin, and had way too many late nights talking.
It was so nice to have both of our moms come down and help us out and get to see the Boys.
It made us miss home but we are going to visit in 2 months, and I couldn't be more excited.
Thanks Mom and Kathy for everything!

Colton's Birth Story

December 28th 2011
6:15 we arrived at the hospital.
7:45 Pitocin was started. I was already dialated to 3 cm and 70% effaced.
9:00 Doctor broke my water, 4 cm
At this point while we were waiting for something to happen we made our guesses on how Big Colton was going to be.
Aaron guessed he would be born at 4:38pm 8 lbs 8 oz. 21 inches long
I guessed he would be born at 3:23 pm 8lbs 7 oz 20 inches long
10:15 I decided I didn't want to be uncomfortable with my contractions any longer so I got my epidural.
12:45 Colton's heart rate dropped a little so they put me on oxygen and stopped the pitocin. Dialated to 6 cm.
2:30 Nurse came in to check me and said if I was ready to go we would start pushing since the Doc was right next door, well after my experience with Braxton I just assumed there was no way i would be ready to push yet. Well nurse said I was at 10 cm and that his head was right there. She was kinda funny she said " I'm not a baseball player and I don't catch so since the baby is so close we will wait for the doc to get here. " Dr. Osowo came in checked me and said ok we're ready to go.
I don't know if my nerves set in or if the room suddenly got really cold but i began to shake as they got everything ready.
1st contraction head was 1/3 of the way out
2nd contraction head was 1/2 way out
3 rd contraction I pushed for 4 seconds and the doc told me to stop. It scared me i figured the cord was wrapped around his neck, i think it was just a little but the next thing i knew Aaron was cutting the cord and Colton was here.
2:53 I met my little boy for the first time.
I got to enjoy my little boy for a while before they took him to weigh him
9 lbs 7.4 oz 21 inches long
No wonder I was beginning to be so uncomfortable I had a HUGE baby in me.
5:45 Braxton got to come meet Colton for the first time.
He is such a good big brother.
We are so blessed to have Colton in our home.
He truly was sent to us from Heaven.

39 weeks

I thought it would be fun to compare belly pics since
(hopefully)
Colton will come any day.
I know I'm not due until Monday
but it would be nice if he came this weekend.
As a Christmas Surprise.
Well anyways here I am 39 weeks pregnant with Braxton.
He ended up being born at 41 weeks.
And Here I am as of Tuesday.
39 weeks along with Colton.
Colton definitely sticks out more, and he is lower then Braxton was at this point.
I am really hoping Colton decides to come on his own and I won't have to be induced again. I have my next doc appt on Tuesday if he isn't here, and that's when we'll discuss wether to induce or continue waiting....
So please Colton make an appearance soon.
We can't wait to meet you.

We've Been Busy...

I just noticed I already posted about Halloween so sorry about the repeated pictures.
One of my Best Friends from High School came and stayed the weekend with us. We had so much fun, we went to the riverwalk and the alamo, did some shopping, made some cookies, and had some good "girl time". I am so glad Aaron is such a good sport and took care of Brax so I could go have some fun! While Jenna was here we took some maternity pictures.
And I LOVE how they turned out.
(there are more on facebook)Aaron and I both celebrated our birthdays this month.
Aaron is now 26 and i am 23.
We don't have pictures of my birthday becasue I was still in my pajamas when I opened my gifts, but for Aaron's birthday they decorated his cubicle at work and Braxton and I surprised him at lunch time with a little surprise party and cake!
It was a blast.
Christmas is coming in less than a month so I was anxious to get our tree up.
Believe it or not this is our first year with our own tree,
the years before we lived with his sister and my parents.
So it was fun for us to be able to decorate our own place, and have Brax help us.
Our little tree is perfect for our apartment.
After we got it set up we told Braxton he could look but not touch so sometimes he gets really close to the tree and says "pretty". But he doesn't touch it.As for Baby news.... I will be 36 weeks tomorrow!
(this pic is at 35 w 3 d)Aaron had 5 days off this last week so we were very busy.
1st we got a Big surprise in the mail...
a rocking chair!
The people Aaron work with all got together and sent this and our other surprise to us for our Baby gifts.
We are sooooo very grateful that we have been so blessed.
Braxton again was a BIG helper!
And now it is his favorite thing to sit in the rocker and read!
Our 2nd Surprise came later that week!
A Toddler bed for Brax!
So after we got everything set up I spent a few days trying to get everything in place
because you never know when Colton will decide to show up.
My other project this week was turning this goodwill dresser ...into THIS!!!
I love how it turned out.
Colton moves around all the time, gives me heartburn pretty bad at night, kicks me in the ribs, makes it hard to breathe.... so on and so on.
BUT I love every second of it!
We are sooo excited to meet him and have Braxton be a big brother.
We are trying to enjoy this next little bit with Braxton before he is no longer an only child.
It has been weird to think that we will have 2 boys soon, but like i said we are so excited!
Wish us luck.
We'll keep you updated more often because we also got ourselves a good working computer on Black Friday, so i am hoping I will be better at blogging.
