Where do I start????
Oh yeah... I'm exhausted!
and so is Aaron.
Colton has been pretty rough these last couple weeks with sleeping.
but only at night.
he takes naps fine and is a very happy kid during the day.
As soon as it is bedtime, something happens.
He can be rubbing his eyes, barely keeping them open, moaning himself to sleep and then....
WIDE AWAKE!!!
How does this happen. So for awhile I would go lay with him and this is how he would fall asleep.
It seems like he is only comfortable if I am right next to him, his arm around me or nursing him.
Yes I can still sleep but not as well as i would like too. and He still wakes up every 3 hours or so.
So i laid him on my floor like this....
Now how can you not sleep all night long with a bed that comfy???
Who knows... oh yeah Colton, because this lasted for a few hours and then he was awake.
One night it did better then the other but still not all night long.
Why is he not in his own crib?
Well you see we tried that too... in the same room as Braxton,
which does ok. but it is a little harder to let Colton put himself back to sleep for fear of then having Braxton wake up as well.
So we set up the pack n play in the spare bedroom and had Colton in there.
Same thing he was waking up every few hours.
Which is hard on us to have to go up and down the stairs half asleep, 5 times a night.
Which is hard on us to have to go up and down the stairs half asleep, 5 times a night.
So i was talking to a lady who has a baby 6 days older then Colton her baby sleeps through the night and is no longer doing nightly feedings.
So i though ok time to wean him of the nightly feedings.
Of course the first night i decide to do this he gets sick.
He is still sick so maybe he is starting to teethe .. i don't see anything but he has a runny nose and he is all congested.
Lucky me I got it too.. So Colton and I have been sick since Saturday.
Which doesn't help with the sleeping problem either!
Aaron just got a new work schedule so he now has to be up at 5:30.
That is hard when we are up 3 times a night with a screaming child.
So it's been hard on both of us.
Braxton on the other hand sleeps Great at ngiht. We put him in his bed around 8 or 8:30, depending on when he woke up from his nap, and even if it takes him an hour or so he just talks himself to sleep.
He sleeps all night and wakes up between 7 and 8 comes in my room and greets Colton and I with a big smile and is so excited to see us.
Weekends he doesn't do so well with his napping, he is such a Daddy's Boy that when dad is home he doesn't want to miss out on play time.
This last sunday after church we were watching a movie and Braxton fell asleep like this for like 2 hours. I couldn't resist. He looked sooo cute!!
So I have a hard time letting my kids cry it out, I feel so bad for them,
however sometimes i get more frusterated when i am holding them knowing they are exhausted and they won't go to sleep.
So this morning I let Colton cry for a little bit. This is what happened. Awesome right.....
I was just thinking the same thing but guess who just woke up....... 20 minute power nap i guess.
Overall i do think my kids are adorable when they are sleeping!
